Random
House has published a book about the Live 8 Concerts.
Hannah Black, who is the Commissioning Editor of Century,
has acquired exclusive world rights to the official
Live 8 tie-in book from Simon Trewin at PFD.
Hannah
Black was quoted as saying, 'I feel passionately about
this cause. It's not often in publishing that you
get to work on a book that will help make a real difference.
One of the amazing things about this is that we're
seeing all the dreams of changing the world that inspired
rock music in the Sixties actually coming to fruition".
The 192 page book includes a Foreword by none other
than Bob Geldof. The book includes crystal clear pictures
of the bands that played the various Live 8 concert
events.
The majority of images are from the Live8 London concert,
but other great shots from the USA and Canadian concert
have been included as well. A very small number of
shot has been included from the Paris, Berlin, and
Rome. Only one shot from South Africa and one shot
from Cornwall. The book however is an awesome piece
of history.
SPECIAL
EDITION - Live 8 Concert book
The Concert
Live
8 was a series of concerts that were held on July
2, 2005 in the United Kingdom, the United States,
France, Germany, Italy, South Africa, and Canada.
A final concert was held July 6th, 2005 will be held
in Edinburgh, Scotland.
In the words of Bob Geldof . . .
"We've
never been wealthier,
we've never been healthier,
we know what it costs,
we know what to do....do it!"
Who promoted the Live 8 concerts?
After
much speculation due to the release of the Live Aid
DVD box set, Bob Geldof (Live Aid promoter) was in
the spotlight again. Inspired by the 1984 hugely successful
Live Aids concert and the recent Band Aid re-recording
of the song "Do They Know It's Christmas?",
Bob Geldof has again decided to make a solid stance
against poverty in Africa - Live 8 concerts.
On May 31, 2005 Bob Geldof announced that a series
of concerts called Live 8 will be staged in London,
Philadelphia, Paris Rome and Berlin. These concerts
were available on multiple stations including BBC,
AOL, and MTV.
When
and where can we buy Live 8 music and DVDs?
