DVD release
The
Live 8 concerts held on 2 LUGLIO 2005, were part of a series of global
events where-by musicians from all genres joined together to make a statement
directly to the members of the G8. Their statement was crystal clear; They wanted
the G8 to consider making positive choices about debt relief in Africa.
The Live 8 Italy concert was held in Rome at the Circus Maximus. The Circus
Maximus is an ancient arena and mass entertainment venue located in the
valley between the Palatine and Aventine hills. The Latin word circus,
which comes from the Greek word kirkos, �circle, ring,� referred to a
circular or oval area enclosed by rows of seats for spectators. This Live
8 concert was held directly in this area and viewers of the concert sat
on the grass hills, reminiscent of the days the Romans came to watch chariot
races. More than 30 top headlining musicans joined this Live 8 global
music extravaganza called "Live 8 Italy".
